The OPPO DV-981HD is the latest incarnation in OPPO's highly aclaimed line of upconverting DVD players. It offers an HDMI interface, with HD upconversion ouput resolutions of 720p, 1080i, and full 1080p.
This is OPPO's most full-featured player yet, and represent one of the best upconverting DVD players out there. OPPO´s new 1080p upscaling DVD player is more affordable than other expensive options.
OPPO DV-981HD offers playback of a whole host of formats including DVD-Audio, Super Audio CS (SACD), Audio CDs, HDCD, WMA, Kodak Picture CDs, all version of DivX including DivX6, as well as Xvid, .SRT, .SMI, .IDX, and .SUB file formats.

High definition up-conversion with film-like picture quality. Upconverts 720x480 interlaced video encoded on DVD discs to 480p/720p/1080i and 1080p. Upconversion to 1080p enables the OPPO DV-981HD to be a perfect match for TV's with native 1080 resolution. Optimal video quality is ensured by having the upconversion process performed directly by the DVD player.
Emmy award winning technology for Superior picture quality DCDi by Faroudja video processing technology with progressive scan, film mode detection, TrueLifeTM enhancement and motion adaptive noise reduction. Video is analyzed on a single pixel granularity to detect presence or absence of angled lines and edges, which are then processed to produce a smooth natural looking image without visible artifacts (jaggies). The result is a breath-taking picture with vivid color, fine details, and life-like picture quality.
Official DivX® Certified product, certified to the Home Theater Profile. Plays all versions of DivX® video (including DivX® 6) with standard playback of DivX® media files. Plays XviD and .SRT, .SMI, .IDX and .SUB format
